Get the picture you want to use and open it in Photoshop. Here's mine:


Make sure your Layers window is open (Windows > Layers). Duplicate the layer the photo is on (Layers > Duplicate). Now on your Layers window, click the "f" at the bottom left corner. A menu will come up with all sorts of image effects, choose Pattern Overlay. Choose the pattern you would look to use on the menu. If you need to download patterns, click here. A good tip, is to mess around with the drop down menu (above where you pick the patterns) to get different effects. For this one I used "Overlay". This is basically what your image will look like afterwards.
